Making Homes Shine, One Helper at a Time

Understand the FDW levy

You'll need to understand the monthly levy. This isn't a tax; it's a government fee to manage the number of foreign domestic workers. You don't need to pay CPF (Central Provident Fund) for your helper, but the levy is mandatory.

Levy Rates: The cost depends on whether this is your first helper or if you already employ one.

  • First Helper: The monthly levy is $300.

  • Additional Helpers: Each additional helper costs $450 per month.

  • Concessions: Families with young children, elderly members, or individuals with disabilities might qualify for a reduced levy of $60 per month. Find out more on MOM website regarding levy concession.

To find out more about levy concession, you may want to visit MOM website:

When Does the Levy Start?

New Helpers: The levy begins on the 5th day after your helper arrives in Singapore (including the arrival date).

Returning Helpers: The levy starts the day after your helper's arrival.

When Does the Levy End?

The levy ends automatically when your helper's Work Permit expires or is cancelled.

Paying the Levy:

You must pay the levy by the 17th of each month (or the next working day if it falls on a weekend or public holiday). You can pay conveniently using GIRO (automatic bank deduction) or PayNow QR. Late payments result in penalties, including potential Work Permit cancellation for your helper.

Important: Make sure you have the correct information for your helper's Work Permit and keep track of payment deadlines to avoid penalties. You can view your levy bills online. If you have questions, consult the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) website or contact them directly.
